Scope, safety & escalation

Clear boundaries. Prompt referral back.

Clear boundaries

Phoebus treats within the scope of acupuncture practice and does not alter, advise on, or discontinue any medication or medical treatment. He does not offer diagnoses outside his field.

Referring back to you

His biomedical training means he recognises when a presentation falls outside acupuncture's remit. He escalates to you, or advises urgent medical review, whenever red-flag symptoms or an unclear or worsening picture appear. Safe, prompt referral back is a core part of how he works.

Communication

With the patient's consent, Phoebus is happy to provide a brief written note on treatment focus and progress, and to coordinate with your care as needed.

Working together

Meet the practice before you refer.

Phoebus would welcome the chance to introduce himself in person and answer any questions your team may have.

Clinicians at your practice are offered a complimentary treatment, so you can experience the approach first-hand before referring. A short CPD-style talk for your team on the evidence base for acupuncture can also be arranged on request.

To refer a patient, or to arrange an introduction, email hello@phoebustian.com or call 07419 992 817. Patients can also book directly and mention their referrer.
